++fridge [2009] : performed by the cygnus ensemble and chris botta

From 2008-2010, I had some memorable adventures roaming streets, subways, marshes, and cathedrals with recording gear in hand, amassing several terabytes of audio in the process. I started composing pieces that grew out of the soundworlds of these recordings, both emotionally and spectrally. Soon I got busy with other projects, leaving everything to age on a hard-drive in my closet. I've decided to release a few pieces "as-is", a) because I don't have the energy/time to form them into some type of full-length effort in the foreseeable future b) because I'd like to believe that these work as pieces of music, beyond their purely nostalgic value.
